If We Never Meet Again
A Duet sung by Patti McCarty and Sharon Sullins
1. Soon well come to the end of life's journey And perhaps well never
meet any more. Till we gather in heaven's bright city. Far away on that
beautiful shore
2. O so often were parted with sorrow Benedictions often quicken our
pain But we never shall sorrow in heaven, God be with you till we meet
again.
3. O they say we shall meet by the river, When no storm clouds ever
darken the sky. And they say we'll be happy in heaven. In the wonderful
sweet by and by.
Alto Chorus:
If We Never Meet Again this side of heaven
As we stuggle thru this world and its strife,
There's another meeting place somewhere in heaven
By the side of the river of life;
Where the charming roses bloom forever,
And where separations come no more
If we never meet again this side of heaven,
I will meet you on that beautiful shore
Soprano Chorus:
Never Meet this side of heaven
struggle thru this world and its strife,
meeting place somewhere in heaven
By the shining river of life;
roses bloom ever and ever,
separations come never more
never meet again this side of heaven,
meet you on that beautiful shore

Time of Sharing:
Our Father in Heaven,
we are grateful we have a Father of our souls,
who dost listen
and answer each simple and sincere prayer,
and who art loving, approachable and compassionate. We thank Thee for
the life of this earthly father who has been called away from this existence.
We are grateful for his many years upon earth,
for the many things in his fatherly character which endeared him to his
familv and friends.
His love music, the Bible, nature, food, family geneology and history.
We are grateful for his good qualities which commend him to Thy keeping,
and which give assurance
that he knows heights
where he now is
which can never fully-be known on earth.
Having fought the good fight,
having finished his course,
and having kept the faith,
wilt Thou grant unto him the crown of life
which fadeth not away.
May Idell and the family which he leaves behind be comfortcd and strenthened
by Thine everlasting arms. Help them to know that deeper than the pain
and mystery of death is Thy tender love and mercy.
And may they exemplify the good qualities of this father, and the Saviour
Jesus Christ in whom there is life abundant and eternal.
Amen.

Prayers
God of us all, your love never ends.
When all else fails, you still are God.
We pray to you for one another in our need,
and for all, anywhere, who mourn with us this day.
To those who doubt, give light;
to those who are weak, strength;
to all who have sinned, mercy;
to all who sorrow, your peace.
Keep true in us the love with which we hold one another. In all our ways
we trust you.
And to you, with your church on earth and in heaven,
we offer honor and glory, now and for ever.
Amen.
O God, all that you have given us is yours.
As first you gave Dale to us,
so now we give Dale back to you.
Into your hands, O merciful Savior,
we commend your servant Dale.
Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you,
· sheep of your own fold,
· lamb of your own flock,
· sinner of your own redeeming.
Receive Dale into the arms of your mercy,
into the blessed rest of everlasting peace,
and into the glorious company of the saints of light.
Amen.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
God of love, we thank you
for all with which you have blessed us
even to this day:
for the gift of joy
in days of health and strength,
and for the gifts
of your abiding presence and promise
in days of pain and grief.
We praise you for home and friends,
and for our baptism
and place in your church
with all who have faithfully lived and died.
Above all else we thank you for Jesus,
who knew our griefs,
who died our death and rose for our sake,
and who lives and prays for us.
And as he taught us, so now we pray.
THE LORD'S PRAYER (Nos. 894-896)
*Hymn, No.361 (remain standing) "Rock of ages"
1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side which flowed, be of
sin the double cure; save from wrath and make me pure.
2. Not the labors of my hands can fulfill thy law's commands;
could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow, all for sin
could not atone; thou must save, and thou alone.
3. Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress; helpless, look to thee for grace; foul,
I to the fountain fly; wash me, Savior, or I die.
4. While I draw this fleeting breath, when mine eyes shall
close in death, when I soar to worlds unknown, see thee on thy judgment
throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee.
Dismissal With Blessing
Go into the world strengthened by the great love of God,
enfolded in the compassionate love of Jesus Christ, filled with the active
love of the Holy Spirit

OPENING SCRIPTURE: PSALM 116:15-16
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints
COMMITTAL:
Forasmuch as the spirit of our departed Dale
has entered into the life immortal,
we therefore commit his body to its resting place,
but his spirit we commmend to God,
remembering how Jesus said upon the cross,
"Father into thy hands I commend my spirit."
SAFELY HOME
Anonymous
I am home in Heaven, dear ones:
Oh, so happy and so bright.,
There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over.
Every restless tossing passed:
I am now at peace forever.
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly Trod
the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
in that way so hard to tread:
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely.
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home:
Oh, that Rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
BENEDICTION
By the Power of God, the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit:
"Do all the good you can
By all the means you can
In all the ways you can
At all the times you can
To all the people you can
As long as ever you can"
till we meet again
